It’s no surprise that our part of Dacorum is home to local artists and makers, inspired by our natural and built landscape, putting brush to canvas, turning clay into 3D art in studios across Berkhamsted & the surrounding villages. How do you see their work, you may ask?
National schemes such as ‘Open Studios’ are one way. Creatives open up their studios, be they shared community workshops or sheds in back gardens, for you to support our local artistic community. One more way to commit to #shoplocal don’t you think? (nudge nudge) You may even be inspired to commission something for your next blank wall or a friend’s birthday present? Community spaces like Open Door on the High Street in Berkhamsted champion local artists. Their free gallery showcases wonderful local art displays, from tapestries to mixed media art installations, sculpture to paintings and jewellery. (This is also a social & education space, check out our Courses & Classes page for more information.) Pop-up exhibitions feature in venues across our community. Is there a visual art exhibition in a village hall, or even in the park that we have not listed? Please let us know at eventhubdacorum@gmail.com. We will list as many art exhibitions as we can on this free website, brought to you by Berkhamsted & District Chamber of Commerce.
