It’s nearly November and that means Fireworks and The Festival of Light bring sparkle to our town. But read on to discover even more amazing events on your doorstep in Berkhamsted & HP4.
Berkhamsted Fireworks
Berkhamsted Rotary Club works with a number of local groups and schools to hold its annual fireworks display. Music, lighting and lasers will combine to create a dazzling show in the sky above Berkhamsted Cricket Club. Watch their video to get a sense of the experience (4 November).
Bridgewater Sinfonia with Jeneba Kanneh-Mason
The Bridgewater Sinfonia are celebrating their 25th anniversary. You can watch ‘a superb showcase’, of the orchestra at Berkhamsted School’s Centenary Theatre. A highlight of the evening will be a guest performance by the brilliant young pianist Jeneba Kanneh-Mason (18 November).

Berkhamsted Art Society’s Winter Exhibition
Paintings, ceramics, prints, cards and much more! This art show and sale at the Civic Centre showcases the work of many local amateur and professional artists. Plus there will be lots to buy, whatever your budget (23-25 November).
Winter Style Event
Personal Stylist Margarita Salomó invites you to an intimate evening of winter styling advice at Margo’s at the Old Mill (23 November). She will be sharing her top styling tips on how to make the most of your wardrobe and some inspiration for party season!
The Festival of Light
You know Christmas is on its way when the Festival of Light transforms our high street into a winter wonderland of festive food and crafts. Whatever your age – who doesn’t love the Elves’ Posting House at the Civic Centre, the ‘switch on’ of the lights, and a visit from Father Christmas himself! Organised by Berkhamsted Town Council (26 November).
Step into Christmas
In November you can also get into the Christmas spirit (why wait!) with all kinds of crafts, a toy swap and photography too:
- Parents for Future Festive Toy Swap at Open Door – Bring your pre-loved toys to swap with others! – (16 November)
- Christmas Photoshoots with Lyndsey Abercromby in two specially created festive sets at Ashridge National Trust Visitors Centre (18 November & 1-3 December).
- Festive crafts at Open Door – from Bubbles & Baubles to Christmas Lino Printing (various dates in November & December)
- Hanako Christmas Wreath Workshops (starting on 24 November)
