Profile
The Special Operations Executive (SOE) was a secret British World War II organisation. Its main purpose was to conduct espionage, sabotage and reconnaissance in occupied Europe and to aid local resistance movements.
This talk focuses on four of their most important establishments in Hertfordshire, namely, Aston House, The Frythe, Briggens and The Thatched Barn, where they secretly produced sabotage weaponry, underwater craft, forged documents for agents and camouflaged devices such as exploding rats.
