Profile
The Eco Hub is a new local initiative supporting our community to adapt to greener and more planet-friendly choices taking place on the first Sunday of every month from 2.30pm til 5.00pm at the Quaker Meeting House on the High Street in Berkhamsted.
Want greener energy but don’t know where to start? Worried about managing your own or loved-ones’ anxiety about the climate crisis? Interested in moving towards a plant-based diet, ensuring your garden will survive changing weather patterns or how to grow your own veg?
Each month will cover a different topic with expert speakers and panels, tips on easy changes, general information, teens corner for developing eco ideas and a fun children’s event – not to mention delicious cakes.
For December, our theme is Green Energy & Building with an expert panel, a speaker on eco-building, a space for teens to develop sustainability projects and a Toy Swap and making festive eco decorations activity run by Parents for Future Herts & Bucks.
For January, our theme is plant-based eating and again there will be an expert panel, speakers and activities for teens and children (creating a tree of pledges). And in February our theme is Growing Resilience and Promoting Wellbeing with speakers, expert panel, meditation and yoga tasters plus creating a LOVE IS… mural with artist Anna Schofield.
Every month there will be delicious refreshments available plus opportunities to ask questions and get tips and information about the climate crisis and how to make simple changes to your lifestyle that support a greener future.
Everyone is welcome and we are looking forward to seeing you join us.
