Profile
BERKOSTAGE presents a Halloween celebration – bubbling CAULDRON – An Evening of Live Music, Fancy Dress & Dancing, on Saturday 29 October at Berkhamsted Civic Centre. Featuring an awesome array of talent – rising stars, festival heroes and local legends – we have SWEETCORNBREAD, BLACK CAT AMIGOS, VEGAS GIRLS and FLETCHR with Special Guest DJ Casper Gomez. BERKOSTAGE operates on a not-for-profit basis and any profits from this event will go to Berkhamsted based charity, Hector’s House (www.hectorshouse.org.uk).
SWEETCORNBREAD: a TOTALLY UNIQUE sound, fusing elements of blues, roots, reggae, bluegrass, funk, country rock and punk folk. With a mixture of original material and fascinating takes on popular covers, their HIGH-ENERGY FEEL-GOOD vibe is GUARANTEED to get you DANCING!
• BLACK CAT AMIGOS: We’re very pleased to announce the long awaited and hugely anticipated return of these local legends. With their origins in SWAMPY, psychedelic, VOODOO BEATS, the BLACK CAT AMIGOS create a sound which is cured in the HEAT of the Californian oilfields and infused with the ROCKIN’ RAVE sound of Britain’s best FESTIVALS and HOUSE PARTIES.
• VEGAS GIRLS: With powerful voices, super sexy harmonies and intoxicating guitar, VEGAS GIRLS bring timeless GUILTY PLEASURES and OLD SKOOL CLASSICS to the people in a raw acoustic VOCAL DRIVEN trio. The vocal engine of the band have performed and recorded with artists such as Moby, Faithless, The Brand New Heavies, Groove Armada and Wickaman.
• FLETCHR: We were lucky to see this local DYNAMIC DUO when they played their FIRST EVER gig in Berkhamsted this summer – and we were BLOWN AWAY by their Rock, Jazz and Folk FUSION. We immediately asked them to join us for our Halloween party. Catch ‘em now, before they go INTERGALACTIC!
About Hector’s House
Hector’s House is a suicide prevention and mental health awareness charity – set up by the family of Hector Stringer, who took his own life at just 18 years old. Robert, co-founder of Hector’s House and Hector’s father says ‘Our son Hector was a local lad who lived and breathed music – so to collaborate on an event like this is just so fitting for the charity. We will ensure the funds raised help to prevent suicide in Berkhamsted and the surrounding areas, and make sure nobody feels alone with their mental health concerns.’
About BERKOSTAGE
BERKOSTAGE started in 2016 with The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) by the Reduced Shakespeare Company and directed by Matt Rippy, which played to a sold out house at Berkhamsted Civic Centre. We followed up with a Comedy Night featuring Susan Earl and Samantha Baines. Our latest production was the Holiday Hee-Haw – a Christmas comedy sketch show with live music from Streams of Brandy and Black Cat Magic. BERKOSTAGE is happy to be back in action and in support of Hector’s House.
