Profile
On 2 March, the Bridgewater Sinfonia will play the first performance of James Lark’s Concerto for Orchestra, which has been commissioned by the Orchestra. James is a promising young composer, and you can find out more about him and his compositions at www.jameslark.co.uk. We will also play Finzi’s Clarinet Concerto, a lovely work which is less well known than it deserves to be. The soloist will be Marie Lloyd. Finally you will hear Sibelius’ Fifth Symphony, a popular work with a last movement that is unforgettable – sometimes referred to as Thor’s Hammer. The concert will take place in the Centenary Theatre of Berkhamsted School. Tickets can be booked via our website www.bridgewater-sinfonia.org.uk.
