Schumann String Quartet in A Major Op 41 No 3
Named for the Barbican Center of their first concert in 2015, the founding members, Amarins, Christoph and Yoanna met at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. There soon followed a Wigmore Hall debut, the RPS Albert and Eugenie Frost Prize, and selection as both St John Smith Square Young and Park Lane Group artists. In 2022, Kate Maloney joined as second violin and that year saw an outstanding first prize at the ARD International String Quartet Competition and several other prizes, including a third win at the Bordeaux International String Quartet Competition. They have appeared in festivals such as Peasmarsh, Vibre! Quatuors à Bordeaux, Zeister Muziekdagen, Montreal Chamber Music, IMS Prussia Cove and Aldeburgh. This is an exciting time for the Barbican, releasing their debut CD, and touring in Germany, France, Holland, Switzerland, Italy, Canada and the USA.
