Silversmiths, wreath makers, bauble painters… Berkhamsted is home to many talented artists and creators. So, it’s no wonder that you can find all kinds of Christmas craft workshops and classes on The Event Hub Dacorum. Here are a few of our highlights for 2023.
Latimer Designs Ring Making Workshop
Trained silversmith Charlotte Latimer (the artist behind Latimer Designs) will run a two-hour workshop at Fred and Ginger, where you can carve your own ring in jeweller’s wax and have it cast into solid silver as a gift to yourself or a loved one (28 November).
If you aren’t already familiar with Latimer Designs’ extraordinary bespoke jewellery (all made in Berkhamsted’s D-lab), then we highly recommend a visit to her website!
Open Door – Wrapping Paper and Baubles
Would you like to have a homemade Christmas? The wonderful creatives at Berkhamsted’s Open Door will show you the way with a wrapping paper lino-printing workshop (18 November) and Bubbles and Baubles evenings running on Wednesdays from 15 November – 13 December.
Sip, Dine ‘N’ Paint with The Mindful Artbox
The Mindful Artbox are specialists in arts events and activities. They are hosting an evening at The Gatsby where tickets include: 2.5 hours painting time with an art specialist, dinner and a welcome drink. Unleash your inner artist and enjoy some festive sparkle with friends (4 December)!
Wreath Making Workshops
Hanging an evergreen wreath on your door is a yuletide tradition. This year why not go local and craft your own at a wreath making workshop in Berkhamsted and HP4. Hanako will guide you on how to use fresh winter foliage (various dates in November-December). Flowersfromhomefarm offer a lesson in Scandinavian-inspired wreaths at The George and Dragon. There are two sessions at the gorgeous Dottie about cake tearooms, and one more at Warehouse Pizza, which includes fizz and Italian festive treats (delicious!)
